Join the founding team

We are building the compliance-first finance app for Europe’s smallest businesses — and one founder cannot, and should not, do it alone.

Who we are

KV AI Accountant was founded by Daniel Loverde, a Belgian entrepreneur based in Sweden, who faced the same maze every new founder faces: registration, VAT, invoicing rules, e-invoicing mandates — with no affordable tool built for beginners. So he built one. The product is live at www.kvaiaccountant.com: Peppol e-invoicing, AI receipt scanning, automated bookkeeping, bank reconciliation and VAT preparation, in five languages, across Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Sweden and the USA.

What we do

We help freelancers and micro-businesses meet Europe’s new e-invoicing laws — mandatory in Belgium since January 2026, phasing in across Germany and Luxembourg — and stay on top of their finances without expensive software or jargon. Free to start, honest about what requires a licensed professional, and built for the people big accounting suites forget.

Why we are expanding

The product phase is largely built. What the company needs now is the team that turns a working product into a trusted business: licensed professionals to guarantee the accuracy of everything we publish, engineers to harden and extend the platform, and people who bring it to the customers who need it. Each open role below closes one of the specific risks we identified in our own founder evaluation — we are recruiting exactly where we are weakest. That is deliberate.

Honest expectations: KV is an early-stage, pre-revenue startup. These are founding positions — built on partnership, equity or revenue-share and shaped together with you — not salaried corporate jobs. You would be joining to build something, with the upside and the risk that implies.

Open founding positions

Founding Accountant Partner — Belgium (ITAA) or Sweden (FAR / Srf)

Closes: Regulatory & content risk

Become the licensed professional behind KV: the person who ensures that what our software tells thousands of small businesses about VAT, invoicing and bookkeeping is correct.

What you would do
  • Review and approve the tax, VAT and e-invoicing content for your jurisdiction
  • Shape the bookkeeping, VAT-return and tax-pack features with professional rigour
  • Anchor the 'trusted accountant' layer — real human help for users who need it, and a client channel for you
What we ask
  • REQUIRED certification: current, verifiable ITAA membership (Belgium) — or FAR authorisation / Srf konsulterna (Sweden)
  • 3+ years in practice serving freelancers and micro-businesses (VAT returns, bookkeeping, closings)
  • Working knowledge of the applicable e-invoicing rules — the Belgian 2026 Peppol B2B mandate (BE) or Swedish bookkeeping standards, BFL/BAS (SE)
  • Able to review software outputs critically and sign off content in writing; French/Dutch (BE) or Swedish (SE) at native level

Accountant Partners — Netherlands (NBA/RB), Luxembourg (OEC), Germany (Steuerberater)

Closes: Regulatory risk in expansion markets

As we activate each market, a licensed local professional must verify our content before we market it. Join as the founding professional for your country.

What you would do
  • Verify country-specific VAT and e-invoicing content (NL, LU or DE)
  • Advise on the local mandate timeline (DE 2027–28, LU 2028–29) and filing practice
  • Optionally serve KV users as your client pipeline
What we ask
  • REQUIRED certification: current NBA registration or Register Belastingadviseurs (NL) · OEC expert-comptable (LU) · chamber-registered Steuerberater (DE)
  • 3+ years advising small businesses in your market, including VAT filings (btw / TVA-eTVA / USt-Voranmeldung)
  • Familiarity with your country's e-invoicing timeline (NL Peppol practice, LU 2028–29 phase-in, DE 2025–28 mandate incl. XRechnung/ZUGFeRD)
  • Native-level local language and the availability to review content within agreed turnaround times

Legal Counsel (SaaS / cross-border)

Closes: Regulatory & legal risk

Keep a five-country fintech-adjacent SaaS clean: terms, privacy, consumer rules and the legal-guidance content our users rely on.

What you would do
  • Review terms of service, privacy policy and GDPR posture (DPAs, data-subject rights)
  • Vet the 'unpaid invoice — legal steps' guidance per jurisdiction
  • Advise on company structure, partner agreements and compliance boundaries
What we ask
  • Qualified lawyer with current bar membership in an EU jurisdiction (BE or SE preferred)
  • 3+ years advising tech/SaaS companies on contracts, terms of service and consumer law
  • Hands-on GDPR expertise: DPAs, records of processing, data-subject rights, cross-border transfers
  • Familiarity with debt-collection/late-payment rules (to vet our 'unpaid invoice' guidance) — financial-regulation exposure a plus

Technical Co-founder / Full-stack Engineer

Closes: Solo-founder & technology risk

Own the platform: a live Next.js + Supabase product with Peppol, Stripe and AI integrations, serving five countries — and make it scale.

What you would do
  • Harden security, testing and infrastructure; own reliability
  • Build the roadmap: PSD2 bank sync, payroll, in-app email, native apps
  • Shape technical strategy as a founding engineer, not employee #500
What we ask
  • 5+ years full-stack experience with production TypeScript/React (Next.js) and PostgreSQL (Supabase/RLS a plus)
  • Proven security practice: auth, OWASP, secrets handling, and setting up testing/CI for a codebase without them
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs (payments, banking/PSD2, or e-invoicing a strong plus)
  • Startup temperament: pragmatic, shipping-oriented, comfortable owning reliability end to end

Growth & Content Lead (SEO, five languages)

Closes: Distribution risk

Distribution is our central unsolved question. Own it: turn Europe's e-invoicing mandates into organic growth.

What you would do
  • Run mandate-driven SEO and content in FR/NL/DE/SV/EN
  • Build the accountant-referral and starter-ecosystem channels
  • Own funnel metrics: signup → first win → paid
What we ask
  • 3+ years growing organic traffic with measurable results (rankings, signups) — B2B SaaS or SMB audience preferred
  • Hands-on SEO craft: keyword research, on-page, Search Console/analytics, and content ops across languages
  • Native or professional-level French, Dutch, German or Swedish (plus fluent English)
  • Comfort owning funnel metrics (signup → activation → paid) and iterating from data

Customer Success & Native-language Support (FR / NL / DE / SV)

Closes: Trust & quality risk

Be the human voice of KV: help users succeed, review our translations with native eyes, and feed what you learn back into the product.

What you would do
  • Answer user questions and turn confusion into product fixes
  • Review and polish the app's language for your native market
  • Build the help-centre content users actually search for
What we ask
  • Native French, Dutch, German or Swedish with excellent written style, plus fluent English
  • Customer-facing experience (support, success or client service) and calm, clear explanations
  • Basic familiarity with invoicing/VAT concepts — enough to answer confidently and escalate correctly to our licensed partners
  • An editor's eye: you spot awkward translations and fix them
